Hi - I'm Andy. I'm a (retired) researcher in participatory design and ICT for socio-economic development (ICTD). I'm really interested by how we configure and run projects that aim to use ICT to support socio-economic development - whether that's in the UK or in 'The global South'. I think that the outcomes we get often depend on the way we configure projects to begin with. Who gets to make the decisions?

I earned an undergrad economics degree and an MBA from UC Berkeley. However, I always felt that the economics that I learned were flawed (e.g. endless growth, ignore the planetary effects, rational man). I am very excited to have discovered Doughnut Economics and the vision of the world that I want to help build.

I am the founder of Harch Inc, a digital media company based in Tokyo and Yokohama city, Japan. We run the online circular economy platform called "Circular Economy Hub" and work with Japanese companies to accelerate a circular economy. We also host the local circular city initiative called "Circular Yokohama". I am very curious about bringing the concept of doughnut economy into Japan and now thinking of organizing a Doughnut workshop in Tokyo. I hope we could have a good collaboration across borders.
