James Love
Evesham, Worcestershire, England, United Kingdom
James graduated from Imperial College London University, with a BSc Hons in Mechanical Engineering, and later went on to do an MBA at Cranfield School of Management. His career has spanned Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Equipment, Automotive, Chemicals, Plastics, White Goods and, latterly Medical Devices, where he was the Vice President Engineering accountable for Quality Management Systems, Regulatory Affairs as well as the normal engineering functions. On leaving his last full-time employment role, James provided concept design together with medical device and personal protective equipment regulatory consultancy services. James was a founder member of the MTQG (Medical Technologies Quality Group) co-sponsored by the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) and the American Society for Quality Bio Medical Division. He has been a speaker at a number of events, including a Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society European Conference on “Quality Management in a Multi-Standards Environment”, the Institute for Physics and Engineering in Medicine on “Signposts to CE Marking of Medical Devices” and at the CQI on “Active Quality Systems”. James is the named inventor on patents/patent applications for vibration attenuation, systems for gasification of liquids without energy at high expansion rates, safety systems in medical devices, serum separation systems and devices to protect individuals against airborne pathogens. His innovative work began in isolating vibration in motorcycles, when he discovered his love for conceptual development finding solutions by making connections between apparently unrelated fields. He is now retired but is concerned about what the future holds for his children and grandchildren.
