GDD2025
At the University of Insubria for sustainable and regenerative tourism in the Lake Como area

The Doughnut Economic Festival was held on Wednesday, October 15, in Como (Italy) at the University of Insubria.
The focus of the event was tourism. Academics, institutions, and businesses came together to move toward sustainable and regenerative tourism in the Lake Como area.

Starting from the results of a research project on tourism in the Lake Como region—which highlighted the environmental and social impacts of overtourism—the discussion explored how the doughnut economy model, developed by Kate Raworth, can inspire new forms of tourism development capable of integrating economic growth, environmental protection, and social well-being.
