GDD 2026 - Youth Shape the City: Katowice 2064
As part of Global Donut Days 2026, we gathered in Katowice to explore how young people can help shape the future of their city.
The event began with *DONUT FOR BEGINNERS*, an interactive workshop introducing Doughnut Economics and the idea of meeting people’s needs while respecting planetary boundaries. Participants then watched the documentary *It’s Okay to Panic*, opening up space for reflection and discussion about the environmental challenges we face.
By connecting global issues with the future of Katowice, we encouraged participants to think about what makes a city a good place to live, grow and build a future. The event invited everyone to look beyond today’s challenges and imagine a city that works for both people and the planet, now and in 2064.
