As part of # global-donut-days 2026, we organised a ‘Green Cinema’ film screening. We watched the wonderful film ‘Woman at War’.
Before the screening, we introduced the film’s theme and central conflict – namely that, on the one hand, growth is regarded as a ‘necessary’ path to the good life. On the other hand, growth appears as a red warning sign that threatens that very same good life. To illustrate this, we used the forecast for the Danish economy, which predicts that private consumption will double over the next 50 years. Alarmning!
After the film, we held a discussion on stage with sustainability psychologist Simon Elsborg Nygaard, focusing on the human perspectives. How can we deal with this conflict? And how can we, with the help of sustainability psychology, live good lives within the boundaries of the planet?
