Q&A System

A space for community members to ask and answer questions.

Last Updated: 19/03/2024 - This idea is currently on hold pending further input.

Background

The DEAL Community Platform does not have an open message board or forum. This was an intentional experiment in seeking to create a platform that is focused on action and less on general discussions and lengthy conversations.

However, the lack of a message board also means there is nowhere for community members to ask each other questions outside of comment on specific tools, stories and events. The DEAL Team curates an FAQ, but this is not editable by the community.

What is the essence of this suggestion/idea?

Create a space where any community member can ask a question (tagged to a specific topic or theme as appropriate) and any other member can respond. The most popular/useful answers to a question could be 'voted' up so they're easy to find.

Common questions could potentially be turned into FAQs, or the Q&A and FAQ could be merged in an intuitive way.

What are the potential benefits of this suggestion/idea?

Crowdsource wisdom, advice, best practices and input from the entire DEAL Community.

Who would benefit from this suggestion/idea?

Members looking to crowdsource wisdom from the community, as well as members looking to find opportunities to collaborate with, or receive advice from, fellow members.

Open Questions

  • Should there be a single Q&A section, or also Q&A sections on specific tools & stories, for example?

Since my question is about the structure of the doughnut itself, it seems important to have a Q&A section so that we are not building on a preset schematic which may need further inputs to refine the foundation of action. Isn't that lack of discussion what got us growth economics?
