Work life - Software product manager for a science charity associated with University of Cambridge (Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre) Home life - my partner, my kids and I have 2.5 acres of farmland outside our town. We're experimenting with ways to manage it in a wildlife-friendly, low carbon way that still produces food and other products for us and our community. Not there yet, but every year the trees mature and we learn more! #science

I am currently studying MSc Food Security and Natural Resources at CAT I'm interested in everything to do with the agri-food system in the UK and globally and strongly believe in the power of the Doughnut and the potential it has to bring humanity within planetary boundaries. In regards to the current food system I believe that alternative economics are key to creating a just and regenerative food system that supports stakeholders and participants at all levels, while also restoring and giving back to the natural world. Modern economic theory with its strong capitalist leanings and emphasis on globalisation does not work for the production, consumption and disposal of food, and we desparately need to create environments for alternative ways of thinking and being.

Originally from New Hampshire, I defected to the West after college for work. I've spent the majority of my career in technology and the last five years in climate tech helping to rapidly advance home electrification. While I believe technological innovation is a significant driver of demonstrating viability for climate solutions, I am keen to learn frameworks and action plans that can generate broader and more immediate impact across larger populations. Doughnut Economics was the first time I experienced a concise representation of a new economic model that resonated deeply with my values. #c
