Applying Doughnut Economics to a basketball club

In a project seminar at the university of Bayreuth led by Prof. Dr. Peter Kuhn the goal was to explore the doughnut economy and try to apply it to the sport sector.  Each student should choose an sports entity and apply the doughnut economy as well as generate sustainale development potential for the chosen entity.  

My work focused on a basketball club, the BBC Bayreuth. The major goal was to create a specific Doughnut for the Club, that shows all the sectors the club ist involved in.  Therefore I analysed the network in which the club operates and evaluated the clubs current sustainablity strategy. In the process I examined current and future measurments of BBC Bayreuth in the segments of the doughnut. 

My work showed, that the club is very active in certain aspects of the doughnut and can improve a lot in others. However there are many sectors where the BBC has no direct connection to. 
The classic dougnut isn't fully tailored to fit for sport clubs. Therefore future work could focus on creating a specific doughnut for sport clubs with slightly changed sectors.
