Student project: Sport organisations and Doughnut

A student project at the Univeristy of applied Manaement looked into how the Doughnut can be implement in sports

In the module "Sustainable Management of Clubs and Associations" in the Master's degree programme in Sports Management with a focus on CSR and sustainability in sport, I worked with the students to think about how the doughnut economy approach can be applied to sports.

The students were not yet familiar with the approach, but were quickly enthusiastic about the idea and the concept. However, adapting it to sport was initially more difficult than expected. We thought about deficits and overloads in sport and realised that sport has effects in both directions and that there is no one sport. However, we were able to work well with the Miroboard template of the four lenses.

The students produced exciting student research projects in which they applied the approach to various clubs, the Olympic Games and even Formula 1.

Together with Peter Kuhn, #Sportainable and Useful Projects, we will be launching a research project here and exploring the topic in more depth.
