Please Note: This event has now finished and can no longer be joined.
If you have expertise, or curiosity, or just hope - please join. No more waiting, let's just jump in together.
Details: Thursday November 12, 5:30-7pm via Zoom or similar.
We will postpone if American democracy is falling apart on the 12th.
Register on eventbrite with this link.
Please message me if you'd like to help organize - we'll pretend we know what we are doing together.
**Update from Monday November 9: More than 30 RSVPs so far! And American democracy seems to be holding strong! Very excited for our meeting. I will send around some additional details to all those that have registered later today.
****Update Tuesday November 10: We passed 50 RSVPs - this is gonna be a good party. 3 updates:
- The wonderful Della Duncan has agreed to help me with facilitation
- I was advised to extend the meeting from 60 to 90 minutes - a really good suggestion. So we will meet from 5:30 to 7:00pm
- Please check out this prep work so we can have a productive meeting:
- Background: If you haven’t already, watch TED talk and review introductory info here: https://doughnuteconomics.org/about-doughnut-economics
- Watch this intro video that discusses downscaling the Doughnut from a global concept to one for cities (and maybe a state?!): https://youtu.be/YCqGf7T9ABo
- Come to the meetup with:
- In a 5 word sentence or less: What is your vision for California?
- A virtual background that shows how the Doughnut for California might look for you.

Past hats I've worn include attorney, professor, entrepreneur, consultant, investor. I'm a San Joaquin Valley raised Mexican American - lived all over the country and now finally home in California. I'm pretty good at breaking down tricky problems. I like people, I don't talk over or disregard women, and people generally like working with me.

I'm a Regenerative Entrepreneurs working in multiple startups and projects. I am seeking to bridge and support the intersectionality and well-being of organizational systems, and applying regenerative design, circular economies to create a better world for all of us. I currently work with social startups aligning with the SDG, WEF as a curator for Globally New Mobility Coalition, and co-chairing a Diversity & Inclusivity ethics committee with IEEE on AI/AS. I'm studying for my circular economy MBA at Bradford UNI and have been part of the regenerative movement for a few years.

For the past two years I've been studying the science of human collaboration and cooperation. I'm interested in building co-ops that are centered around doughnut economics. I'm interesting in building co-ops, in Los Angeles, for the donut economy.

Excited by Distributed Cooperative Organizations, "DisCOs", which are a way for people to work together in ways that are cooperative, feminist economic, and commons-oriented. DisCOs explicitly account for the value of care work. See https://disco.coop/
