In 2025, Nairobi Grassroot communities "Reclaimed wellbeing Through Story, Space and Solidarity, asking what does wellbeing look like?

Collectively through 2026, as individuals, communities we have been faced with tensions (social, political, psychological), a rising cost of living and ecological threats, and through 2026 we tried to answer that question, but as we laboured (and still labouring) through 2026, we learned a profound truth: The most radical economic infrastructure we have is not a building, policy or finance. It is CARE.

For Global Donut Days 2026, we are exploring the question: "What if what is needed most for most of us is just a form of care in one way or the other?" We invite the global DEAL community to join us in Nairobi as we de-center productivity and re-center humanity through three immersive curations:

  • The Santuary of the UnfinishedT: A showcase of unfinished art, umastered music, rejected proposal, and raw unedited ideas. A rejection of the extractive deman for "perfect products" and an embrace of the human process, and our own imperfection.

  • Kikao Cha Roho: A community-led session grounding mental wellbeing in African Indigenous ingenuity. Moving away from individualized clinical models to collective holding, storytelling, and shared release to process the weight of the year.

  • Step Into the Doughnut: Learning from our 2024 Step in the Doughnut session we will have an interactive play-based (The MusicalChair of Abundance)  introduction to Doughnut Economics, because learning about Regenerative Economies should not be an academic burden, it should be joy.
