The Doughnut Circle: Balancing Needs & Limits
Embodied game to shape a thriving world! Move in to meet needs, connect chairs within Earth's limits
Posted by Ntulea Africa
Ntulea Africa is a regenerative systems weaver. Our purpose is to nourish interconnected futures by weaving heritage knowledge, regenerative action, and community power, catalyzing collaborative pathways for just and thriving societies. We nurture the 3 inherent potential (Ntu) within communities and ecosystems to co-create economies that are regenerative (working with Earth’s cycles) and distributive (sharing value with all who co-create it). We help translate the Doughnut's social foundation and ecological ceiling into practical, community-led models in Kenya, from young forest guardians to Indigenous storytellers.
Ntulea operates through three interconnected pillars: 1. Education & Capacity Building (workshops on Doughnut Economics, systems thinking, and deep design); 2. Resource Co-Creation (developing open-source toolkits and case studies on regenerative enterprise design); and 3. Network Weaving (connecting grassroots innovators with impact investors, policymakers, and practitioners). Our work currently supports three pioneering projects: 1. An urban forest conservation initiative, 2. A documentary co-created with Maasai communities, and 3. An arts-based agroecology hub.

I am a learning designer, facilitator, coach, and founder of The Baobab Project, where I create learning experiences that help people and organisations rethink how they live, learn, lead, and work. My work sits at the intersection of inner development, leadership, regenerative thinking, dialogue, and systems change, exploring how personal transformation and collective action can support a more just and thriving future. I am passionate about creating spaces where people can slow down, connect across difference, and cultivate the capacities needed to navigate complexity with courage, compassion, and purpose.
