DE Academic Community of Practice: Preparing to Teach

Join us for our next session in the How to Teach Doughnut Economics series, where we’ll be joined by Carolina Escobar-Tello, the Schools and Education lead at DEAL. Hosted by Rethinking Economics, this quarterly Doughnut Economics Academic Community of Practice call shifts the focus from what we teach to how we teach it, explore engaging and transformative approaches.

In this session, we’ll explore key ideas from the Preparing to Teach materials, including the mindset shift behind Doughnut Economics education and practical approaches to pedagogy. Carolina will guide us through how these ideas can be brought to life in the classroom, with space to reflect on how they connect to your own teaching context.

Before the session, we encourage you to spend some time exploring the Preparing to Teach materials and come prepared with questions, reflections, or challenges. The session will be an opportunity to zoom in on specific areas, deepen understanding, and learn from each other’s experiences.

Together, we’ll reflect on our teaching practices, share how we’re using the university-level resources, and create space for exchange and collaboration across the community.

Come ready to share your experience, surface your questions, and connect with fellow educators. Let’s learn from practice- and from each other.
