Doughnut Economics Collective Toronto, Centre for Social Innovation & Kesaco invite you to rediscover the roots of ecological economics. We are excited to present a screening of the newly released documentary, Econoclast: Herman Daly and the Gospel of Growth.

Econoclast is a documentary film about Herman Daly, often called the father of ecological economics, who recognized that the economy is a subsystem of the Earth’s biosphere, that eternal economic growth is not possible on a finite planet, and that the costs of growth ultimately exceed its benefits.

The event will include opening remarks from the documentary team and guest speakers, screening, and post-film discussion.

This event is for anyone interested in viewing the world through a new lens, understanding emerging economic models, and exploring how ecological economics is shaping global movements to live within planetary boundaries.

This event is part of Global Doughnut Days (October 20-24, 2026) a multi-day, community-led festival, to be held online and in-person around the world, centred on Doughnut Economics and organized by the global community of Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL).
