Doughnut Economics About DEAL DEAL Team Careers FAQ Principles & Guidelines Wider Movement Contact UsHi, I'm Steve an Englishman living in Ireland. I trained in Economics, Agriculture and International Development at Reading University, before working as an Economist at the UK Cereal Authority (now part of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board), where I became Director of Marketing & Economics, leading a team of 15 economists and statisticians for some 15 years. I then worked as a Consultant on International Development projects, where I became involved in training MSc students in Ethiopia and other countries, before accepting a part-time position as Lecturer and Research Fellow in the International Development Team at University College Cork. I have been using Kate's Doughnut Economics in my classes since 2013 just after she published the first paper on the concept. I am also Chairperson of a volunteer group, Cobh Zero Waste, aiming to make Cobh and Great Island zero waste by 2030 and zero carbon by 2040.
