My background is in public policy and data science, though I love economics. I have been thinking about the issues with GDP for a long time, and a book called Sacred Economics that I read a year or so ago had a profound impact on me. I work in government consulting, and would like to make as much of an impact as I can towards the future we want to see. I also get a bit obsessed with trash and recycling and plastic. Currently, I have an app idea to help build waste literacy and ultimately reduce our consumption and waste if anyone is interested in collaborating!

My name is Pedro Maciel and I'm from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I am graduated in Industrial Engineer and currently taking a Masters Degree on Sustainability Science. I have a Start Up that produces contents and events where we use the power of sports as a channel to communicate the importance of Ecological Literacy. I have a deep relationship with oceans as an avid surfer, I've traveled across 5 continents in search of waves, and these experiences made me realize what my purpose in the world is. I've been teaming up with several engaged professionals in Brazil with the intention to collaborate in search of solutions and business models that will help our society in the much need transition towards a more sustainable, fair and thriving society. Today, the focal area of my activities has been the coastal zone, due to Rio de Janeiro intrinsic relationship to beach lifestyle.

Takuya Masuda
Japan
I'm based in Tokyo and Maebashi city is my hometown. Currently I'm working for international company and organization - how we should and are able to help local governments implement Smart City. On the other hand, I'm now keen on Doughnut and City Circularity for cities in Japan like Amsterdam as I strongly believe that Cities definitely will need to consider implement circularity with high priority, especially against recent COVID19. However unfortunately no cities in Japan have implemented such a strategy/policy like Amsterdam and other Circular City in the world. I have strong passion and motivation to introduce, spread Doughnut to Japanese local governments and to get some cities to declare and implement as Circular City in a couple of years !
