Hello! I'm currently working as Source for the Piʌot Project - the emergent people-powered movement for regenerative transformation. [Towards a more beautiful future] [ Towards a more beautiful future ] I'm also a regenerative business designer, a bookseller selling nature/travel/adventures books that help folk reconnect with themselves and the rest of the natural world, as well as a collaborator with the Leeds Doughnut Coalition. Before finding my wings in 2020 I was the Head of Policy at the York and North Yorkshire LEP where I developed England's first, and only, carbon-negative Local Industrial Strategy, integrated the UN SDG's into our decision making and project appraisal processes and pioneered the implementation of design thinking in the public sector. In my work now I'm investigating the role that we puny humans and our powerful businesses can play in nurturing a more beautiful future via a post-growth economy.

I'm convinced we can use two levers - entrepreneurship and technology - to make agriculture more profitable, productive and sustainable. Farming is complex, and entrepreneurship is complex. Neither is remotely easy! Nonetheless I'm sure there are many ways growing exciting new businesses, can help to move the needle on less damaging farming practices, improving food security and environmental impact as a result. I'm probably the only person who's ever been both a Stanford MBA and a Nuffield Farming Scholar, which gives me a unique combination of perspectives, all accompanied by endless curiosity.

Thanks very much for the Action Lab. I am currently exploring how to integrate the Doughnut and Embedded Economy models within the following areas in Business: * the Business Case for Programmes and Projects (e.g. UK Green Book)? * Integrated Management Systems with ISO 9001 related standards? * Sustainable Community based upon ISO 37101 and relation to the doughnut * the EFQM Model? * B-Corporation Certifications? * Systems engineering related areas. The people working with these models and standards already have an understanding of models and have their own internal audiences within organizations. I'm interested in collaborating with any people also looking at these areas.

Hi - I'm Andy. I'm a (retired) researcher in participatory design and ICT for socio-economic development (ICTD). I'm really interested by how we configure and run projects that aim to use ICT to support socio-economic development - whether that's in the UK or in 'The global South'. I think that the outcomes we get often depend on the way we configure projects to begin with. Who gets to make the decisions?

I earned an undergrad economics degree and an MBA from UC Berkeley. However, I always felt that the economics that I learned were flawed (e.g. endless growth, ignore the planetary effects, rational man). I am very excited to have discovered Doughnut Economics and the vision of the world that I want to help build.

I'm a priest in the Episcopal Church whose primary focus is Plainsong Farm, a new ministry started five years ago. I also serve Holy Spirit Episcopal Church on a part-time basis. I attempt to connect the dots of a Christian food movement. It looks like a doughnut to me.
