I'm part of the Donut Brasil network, and together we are experiencing the tools and knowledge of the Doughnut Economics in many projects and in the Latin America and Brazil contexts. I describe myself as a XXI century economist, who adopts systemic and transdisciplinary thinking, and understands the world as a complex socio-ecological system. My goal is to work with regenerative projects for the development of inclusive, intelligent, and sustainable cities and communities. I have been particularly interested in applying the Doughnut economy model for cities, business and organisations. I have experience with projects planning and management, structuration and implementation of new governance models, and group's facilitation collaborative methods to co-create more effective and sustainable solutions for social problems.

After 33 years split between environmental scientist, waste regulator, waste operations, consultancy and then education - my passion is in stakeholder engagement and education - taking complex concepts, technology and ideas and engaging through multiple audience lenses. Einstein said we cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used to create them. So true - I am passionate about systemic solutions, developing critical thinking skills, global creative problem solving and changing the way we educate - from nursery we should be embedding circular thinking, sharing and collaboration. We owe it to the next generation.

I’ve been a ‘Culture and Sustainability Specialist’ for the past 29 years of my 45+ year museum career. I am convinced that a sustainable future must be built on a new foundation - which means transforming the cultural footing for individuals, groups, organizations and social systems within countries around the world - as well as the cultural footing for humanity's global community. I approach culture as ‘how we live our lives’, which is very different from our cultural sectors. I see great potential in the existing global network of museums to expand their function beyond the existing framework of providing edutainment experiences in the leisure time economy. If museums can embrace the role of being catalysts of cultural and adaptive change, then it is possible to achieve the structural changes contained with the Doughnut. Also, for the past 12 years, I’ve been a member of the Strongly Sustainable Business Model Group (previously SSBMG - renamed Community for Flourishing Enterprises), which has been developing tools to foster businesses that contribute to business, societal and environmental flourishing.
