As initiator, founder and research director of the , I deal with the transfer of the doughnut to the #sport #sector. The doughnut has been playing an increasingly important role in our collegial exchange for some time now. Now we want to systematically address the adaptation of the doughnut to the sport sector and use this as the basis for a #holistic and both horizontally and vertically scalable #model of in sport.

I am a retired tertiary teacher in the disability field. I have eleven grand children all of whom I love dearly and am concerned about the state of the Earth they will be growing up into. I am very interested in Earth Systems and the connectivity of all things. I am a member of the Ceile De tradition which is an ancient esoteric tradition based which teaches spiritual transformation. I came across Kate Raworth and her ideas when she was interviewed for Nate Hagen’s podcast. I instantly agreed with a lot of what she was saying and wanted to know more. I want to take responsibility for the way we have treated the Earth and all of her offspring.

Sergio Montero is Associate Professor of Geography & Planning and Inaugural Director of the Institute for Inclusive Economies and Sustainable Livelihoods (IIESL) at the University of Toronto, Scarborough. Dr. Montero is interested in place-based and inclusive approaches to reimagine local economic development and urban & regional planning. His research is often comparative and emphasizes thinking from the Global South and from the peripheries of economic development. His recent research has been focused on the politics and governance of urban and regional planning; on the South-South and South-North circulation, learning and adoption of international policy models and “best practices,” particularly around sustainable transport; and on local and regional economic development strategies, especially in Latin America.

As the founder of Regenerative Rising, I have been working within a growing movement to elevate the principles of which are rooted in indigenous ways of knowing. I am working on a new online leadership curriculum to further build a foundation for those interested in embracing this worldview and applying it to their area of endeavor. I am looking forward to find collaborators and allies within this community.

I am a PhD Candidate at NTNU, in Norway. My research is about material and carbon footprint (nexus) in urban systems. Our goal is not only to reinforce that most European countries have to reduce consumption, but we also aim to point out how can we make this work. Therefore, we use Environmentally Extended Input Output (EEIO) analysis to study household consumption behavior, environmental impacts and rebound effects. My research is at the institute, and I believe that the is the approach that makes most sense for me.

An ecologist by instinct and training, macro-economics has always alienated me because of the unchallenged hegemony of growth. Throughout my adult life, I’ve been acutely aware of degradation of the environment being driven by the economy, but the universal advocacy for economic growth led me to think that there must be a fundamental requirement for it that I just hadn’t grasped. But in the summer of 2022 a friend gifted me a copy of Jason Hickel’s book Less is More. It made me realise that the reason economic growth seems so fundamental to our way of life is that our social and economic structures have, for centuries, been deliberately structured around it to provide opportunities for a limited number of people to accumulate wealth. It vividly described now nature is commodified and enclosed to facilitate growth and the accumulation of wealth into the hands of these few. The book changed my outlook: where previously I had viewed the future – especially the future for my children and grandchildren – with a sort of resigned hopelessness, Less is More showed me that there is an alternative way forward. Of course it wasn't long before I found and read Kate Raworth's Doughnut Economics and soon after, the Doughnut Economics Action Lab and this community. I work for UKCEH as a web programmer, but I have also developed open source digital tools for ecologists in my own time. I am currently working on a new doughnut visualisation tool which I would like to make available to this community when complete.

I have been against the UK’s policy of “more economic growth” for decades. As it only results in benefiting a handful of people rather than everyone in the community.

Hi, I´m a consultant in sustainable development and I have been working with sustainability issues for more than 30 years. I hope to be able to share my knowledge, get new knowledge an insights, new contacts and networks. Comming from natural science and technology, the last 15 years I´ve learned more and more about the connections between ecology, energy, economics and social aspects of sustainability. Since I´m also a Rebirther I´m interested in inner development. During the last two years I´ve tried to start a national peoples education programme here in Sweden. My input to the programme is a number of "elephants in the room", which I believe stop us from creating a sustainable development. The biggest "elephant" is probably the strong correlation between energy use, production/consumption/(GDP) and climate- and environmental impact. We do not want to see this correlation since we do not want to reduce our production/consumption, which would be the case if we reduced the production/use of fossil fuels. Here is a video where I present twelve "elephants in the room", in Swedish. Pleace contact me if you want me to give you a short summary in English. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsXO0ECKRmI I see an urgent need for regenerating our ecosystems: forests, agricultural land and coastal areas. I´ve met Kate Raworth at least once, in Stockholm, in the research project www.bortombnptillvaxt.se (Beyond GDP growth) in 2014-2018. I think The Doughnut is a brilliant concept and I´ve suggested that Kate should have the Nobel Prize in Economics.

I am a second year Economics and Business Economics student at the University of Amsterdam. What brings me to DEAL is my search for a place where all people are considered in policy making, where the world is changed step by step using smart economics techniques. I am particularly interested in behavioral economics, policy making and macroeconomics. I am looking to work with or be an intern for DEAL, because I feel like this is a perfect space for me to contribute to what I believe in and what I have been studying to do.
