Daniela Hinman is a civic designer, sustainability strategist, writer, and visual artist whose work sits at the intersection of regenerative economics, community resilience, and democratic renewal.  She is the founder of Field + Form, a civic design consultancy based on California’s Central Coast.   Daniela's background includes studies in rural and environmental policy, sustainability, and Indigenous studies at Oregon State University’s School of Public Policy.  Her interests center on regenerative democracy, circular economy theory, and the emerging field of civic design— grounded in over a decade of applied community engagement work across organizing, Indigenous advocacy, policy research, and creative facilitation.   She lives on California’s Central Coast, where she is raising her family, tending her own creative practice in visual art and photography, and finding regular renewal at the farmers market, the library, and on the trails and coastlines that define this particular place in the world.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Brian Munyanganizi is a strategic communications and visual storytelling professional with over four years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, digital media, and brand management within Uganda’s energy sector.  As a member of the Doughnut Economics East African Coalition (DEAL), he brings expertise in shaping compelling narratives that inspire systems change and promote regenerative and socially just development. Brian believes that effective communication is central to advancing the principles of Doughnut Economics.  By translating complex policies, sustainability initiatives, and community experiences into engaging stories, he helps bridge the gap between institutions and the people they serve. His work focuses on amplifying diverse voices, strengthening public participation, and fostering meaningful dialogue around inclusive and sustainable development. With expertise in strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, multimedia content production, photography, videography, graphic design, and digital storytelling, Brian supports the development of communication campaigns that encourage communities, organizations, and policymakers to rethink economic success beyond growth and toward human wellbeing within ecological boundaries. Currently pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism and Communication Management at the Uganda Management Institute and a Master of Fine Arts at Makerere University, Brian combines academic research with creative practice to produce innovative, evidence-based communication solutions. His interdisciplinary background enables him to communicate complex sustainability concepts through accessible, visually engaging, and people-centered approaches. Through DEAL, Brian is committed to using communication as a catalyst for regenerative transformation across East Africa—helping build awareness of Doughnut Economics, strengthening collaboration among changemakers, and inspiring collective action toward economies that enable both people and the planet to thrive.

Samuel Nsubuga’s commitment to youth development, cross-cultural learning, and collaborative leadership reflects the principles of Doughnut Economics, which seeks to ensure that all people can thrive within the means of the planet. Through fostering knowledge exchange and empowering young people, he contributes to strengthening the social foundations of the Doughnut, including education, participation, equity, community, and opportunity. My emphasis on collaboration across countries and communities supports the transition toward regenerative and distributive systems that prioritize shared prosperity over extractive growth models. By promoting youth engagement, lifelong learning, and collective action, Samuel helps cultivate the leadership and innovation needed to address Africa’s social and economic challenges while respecting environmental boundaries. My  work demonstrates how young leaders can play a central role in shaping economies and communities that are inclusive, resilient, and regenerative for present and future generations.

I’m excited to join this community as an agent of change. Currently, I’m developing tools that use AI technology to provide engaging, dynamic interactions with virtual patients and healthcare professionals, in an effort to strengthen positive and effective communication.  I am also developing a methodology for evaluating projects that meet values discussed in Donut Economics and further lead to funding decisions. It is a new way to explore economics, particularly in the U.S. and I am learning everything I can about this hopeful, fascinating work.  I have a PhD in Applied Developmental Psychology, and additional experience/work in cognition, neuropsychology, behavioral economics, and brain functioning and stimulation (e.g. TMS). I am a practicing kindness-er (TM?) on a daily basis, providing for others in the community, hosting a relaxation corner for cancer patients awaiting treatment, supporting local blessings boxes and educators, and local people in need. I have a wide variety of skills and experiences to draw from including animation, coding, product design, testing, clinical trials, all elements of academic research and in the private sector. Considering the scale of the commercial built environment and the level of emissions attributed to the sector a solution had to address the friction points to allow adoption at scale and velocity to make an impact.  DC Green is and Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) company focused on the funding, ownership and operation of behind-the-meter (on site) renewable energy infrastructure.  I am a property guy  with decades of capital markets and real estate investment experience across the UK, Continental Europe, and the CEE region. Formerly Investment Director for CEE and then Head of Investment for Continental Europe, Middle East & Africa for a global advisory firm.  Fascinated to see how we can build new businesses and economic realities around DEAL principles.

I am a qualified accountant specialising in taxation advice. I'm the Business & Enterprise Lead at DEAL, leading our work to inspire and equip businesses to be redistributive and regenerative.  My career has focussed on responsible business, with 25 years of practical experience connecting ambition with design-to-action from organisational governance to supply chains. I've worked to define and implement activity benefitting people, other animals, and the planet we rely on. Often that's been by seeking to transform often invisible issues and structures. My leadership roles have included Human Rights Director at Natura &Co and Responsible Procurement Head at The Body Shop, driving impact across mainstream and fair trade operations and supply chains. I've also worked at the Ethical Trading Initiative and Anti-Slavery International. I chair the UK-based Food Network for Ethical Trade (FNET), and I'm a Circular Economy Institute member and a Deep Time Walk guide. In 2023 I studied Regenerative Economics at Schumacher College. My  working approach is rooted in my commitment to family, community, feminism and listening skills and typically accompanied by poems, care, and cake.

I retired from the NHS (National Health Service) in 2012 having worked as a senior information manager. Now, I volunteer at projects involved in gardening, helping children get access to the countryside and working with children doing story writing. I also have my own allotment growing veggies and fruit and write flash fiction and short stories which occasionally get published.  My interest in Doughnut/Deal is around wanting an alternative and positive narrative on economics to the leaden conventional one. Currently I'm heavily involved in a campaign to stop the massive expansion of holidaymaker/leisure aviation at my local airport and across the UK. Aviation epitomises all that's wrong with the dominant, profit driven, extractive model that breaks our local economy in the North East of England and accelerates climate change as it grows. It has to be stopped.

I operate at a rare intersection: I'm a practicing REALTOR® with Windermere Signature Properties, a business and PR marketing consultant, a freelance Audio Visual Technician, and a technology founder building a platform designed to change how agents and clients experience real estate from the ground up.   As a Realtor, I work with first-time buyers, seasoned investors, and clients navigating the Bay Area to Sacramento corridor. What I bring that most agents can't is 20 years spanning from marketing, content development, visual media, event production, arts curation, to videography and photography. I don't just list homes. I tell their story, coordinate every moving part, and stay in my clients' corner from the first conversation to the closing table. My market knowledge spans the Central Valley, Greater Sacramento, the Bay Area, and Lake Tahoe.   On the consulting side, I work with businesses ready to sharpen their brand, scale their marketing, and build systems that hold. My background covers content strategy, SEO, UX/UI, brand storytelling, digital platform management, and advertising — and I translate all of it into clear, practical strategy through Centralis LLC.   In live production, I've worked across breakout rooms, convention halls, concert venues, and large-scale conference centers as a freelance AV Technician — installing and operating LED walls, lighting, audio systems, and full end-to-end AV infrastructure where precision is non-negotiable.   On the technology side, I'm developing an application built to close the gap between real estate agents and the clients they serve. Two decades of firsthand experience meeting a problem that has gone unsolved for too long.   Staying current matters to me. I'm actively engaged with NAR, SAR, and PCAR, completing a Mediation Certification through UC Davis, and pursuing my Certified Home Stager and Certified Luxury Home Agent designations. I’m also the micro-qualification lead and lecturer at the Hartcliffe and Withywood Micro-Campus where I developed a programme called “Skills for a Changing World: Entrepreneurship and Professional Studies”. I am drawn to the Doughnut Economics Action Lab Community because it offers a practical and Planetary-centered approach to development that aligns closely with my vision for inclusive and regenerative societies. Coming from a background in History and Development practice, I have worked in TVET, livelihood, and disability inclusion projects in Bangladesh, where I have seen how economic growth often overlooks social equity and ecological balance. DEAL’s framework inspires me because it connects economic systems with human dignity, community wellbeing, and planetary boundaries. I want to learn from global practitioners, exchange ideas, and explore how Doughnut Economics can be adapted to contexts like Bangladesh. In the future, I hope to apply these ideas through my initiative, Development X, focusing on inclusive livelihoods and regenerative community development.

 I am a teacher, speaker, and author who, for over 25 years, has led hundreds of workshops and classes, given talks from coast to coast, and published 3 books.  My work centers on how being of service to others can generally enrich our lives as well as improve and give more meaning to our work, workplaces, and buying spaces.  I come to the DEAL community first as a learner and second as a believer in the need to change our economic thinking if we want a livable planet with thriving humans on it. 

I am a Senior Economist specialised in sustainability and climate change advisory, with over 13 years of experience delivering economic analysis for public sector institutions and private clients. I always have had an immense passion towards tackling climate change and working to shape a more sustainable planet. I am very glad to be part of this network to share ideas, bring insightful assessments and keep working towards these pressing issues, which, amongst others, can be solved by fostering a Doughnut Economics' mindset.
