I am a practicing specialist in the field of neuropsychology and neurocoaching. I am engaged in the study of the human psyche and brain. I want to make this world a better place. Having seen the community, I realized that we are on the same wavelength. I was interested in the idea. I want to learn more about it and, of course, I can share mine. It's nice to meet like-minded people!

Hi, I'm Anni. I am from Germany and now live on Vancouver Island, Canada. I studied Social Innovation at Breda University of Applied Sciences and currently work as the Living Systems Coordinator at the Nanaimo Prosperity Corporation. I joined the Doughnut Economics Action Lab to both learn from others and to share my personal journey as we launch the Living Systems Program in Nanaimo — the first and only city in North America to adopt Doughnut Economics. Our goal is to bing the principles from City Hall into the streets.

CIGLE FÉ-SZEK Social Cooperative
Cegléd, Pest, Hungary
CIGLE FÉ-SZEK Social Cooperative is a Hungarian community-based organization committed to creating social and environmental value through sustainable, locally driven initiatives. Our work focuses on supporting small local producers, developing community gardens, promoting sustainable agriculture and local food systems, and organizing educational and awareness-raising programs. We were founded on the belief that a resilient and fair local economy must serve both people and the planet — ensuring dignified living conditions for community members while preserving natural resources for future generations. Our current goal is to develop a sectoral training and development center based on a cluster model, which connects local stakeholders — producers, educators, and community actors — in a cooperative framework to strengthen regional sustainability and innovation. Shared values and vision The core principles of Doughnut Economics — balancing social foundations with ecological ceilings — perfectly align with our mission. Joining DEAL would help us deepen our understanding and practical application of these principles in our local projects and community development work. Learning and knowledge exchange We believe that the tools, frameworks, and learning opportunities offered by DEAL would help us strengthen our initiatives and assess their real social and environmental impact. We see great value in learning from other members’ experiences and sharing our own. Networking and collaboration Becoming part of the DEAL community would allow us to connect with like-minded organizations and practitioners around the world. Through collaboration, we hope to co-create solutions that are both locally relevant and globally significant. Applying global ideas locally Our aim is not only to embrace the Doughnut framework conceptually but also to implement it in practice — through community farming, circular local economies, educational programs, and participatory local development. We believe that building “local doughnuts” is a key step toward systemic change.

Hello everyone, I’m Adrián García, based in Catalonia (Spain). After almost a decade in the corporate sector (In Vitro Diagnostics), I transitioned to focus fully on regenerative agriculture and holistic land management. I founded Reterra as a way to connect businesses, farmers, and communities around projects that restore ecosystems, strengthen rural economies, and create resilient food systems. What brings me to DEAL is the possibility of learning and sharing how regenerative practices can align with the principles of Doughnut Economics — ensuring that ecological regeneration also delivers social and ethical value. #RegenerativeAgriculture #HolisticManagement #EcosystemRestoration #CommunityResilience

Becky Grove (Emergent Generation CIC)
Stroud, Gloucestershire, England, United Kingdom
Hello, I am a co-founder of Emergent Generation - a diverse network of experienced founders, volunteers and young members (18 - 35) working together to build a sustainable farming and food system that nourishes people and the planet. We ENABLE young people to share knowledge, resources, skills, opportunity, and inspiration. We celebrate successes and ENCOURAGE each other to create or engage in activity that has impact. We EMPOWER our diverse community to build an agroecological food system and regenerative future. We held our first event at FarmED in 2022. We started to show our young audience that they are not alone, and helped them to turn their passion for change into action, nurturing them as individuals and as a community. We'd love to meet anyone working in, studying or simply curious about, food systems that are better for people and planet.

I hold a BSc in Economics (Athens University of Economics and Business) and I'm currently pursuing a Minor in International Relations and Economics (American College of Greece), as a scholarship recipient. Incoming MPhil in Economics student at National & Kapodistrian University of Athens. My research interests include #economic development, #ecological economics, #degrowth, #international economics, and #public policy. I've participated in research and policy projects such as ARSIONE, ReSEES, and ESENKA, and I'm currently working on my first academic paper on beyond-GDP economics growth, based on alternative indicators. My goal is to pursue a research career in economics, with a focus on planet & inequality based policies-relevant questions, and to undertake a PhD in the near future. Beyond academia, I’m actively involved in climate and social justice movements. As a founding member of Fridays for Future, I engage in initiatives promoting fair, inclusive, and sustainable future for the people and planet, with special interest in post growth theories, currently through “Let’s talk about Degrowth Greece.”

My name is Shiro, a crocheter, a mother, a humanitarian and someone who loves both nature and community. I’m drawn to Doughnut Economics because it speaks to the balance I try to live every day: caring for people while caring for the planet. I’m here to learn, be inspired, and explore how these ideas can weave into my work and community life. I believe creative acts, like crafting and sharing, can ripple into bigger changes and I’m excited to connect with others who are passionate about building fairer, more regenerative systems.

I am particularly interested in environmental economics, and if and how green economies can thrive, be that through innovative currencies, or smooth renewable energy being integrated into grids on a greater scale. This is what brought be to Doughnut Economics, which branched out my interests to the other end of the spectrum - basic human needs not being met. I want to go into my economics degree with the right foundations to allow me to learn in the right way, and the book was the perfect start.

Benjamin Chung
Seoul, South Korea
I'm Dr. Benjamin, a systems thinking educator and researcher based in Korea, serving on the Leadership Team of the Pre-College Education SIG within the international System Dynamics Society. I served as President of the Korean System Dynamics Society for four years (2017-2020) and have been the President of System Leadership Institute since 2017. Currently, I'm actively working as a World Climate Ambassador appointed by Climate Interactive (https://bit.ly/3H6IBnQ), facilitating climate change education through systems thinking approaches. Through my climate education work, I've come to believe that addressing climate challenges fundamentally requires a systemic perspective on economics. This is what brings me to the DEAL Community—I'm eager to learn how doughnut economics can complement and enhance systems thinking methodologies in education. I'm excited to contribute my experience in systems thinking education and leverage the K-12 educational networks I've developed over the past decade in Korea. I believe there's tremendous potential to adapt and spread DEAL educational programs through these established channels, helping Korean students understand the interconnections between economic systems and planetary wellbeing. I look forward to learning from this community's innovative approaches and exploring how we can integrate systemic and regenerative economic thinking in educational contexts.

I'm a newcomer to the whole sustainability and regenerative economics space, still trying to find out how I could help. By trade I'm an Embedded Software Engineer working on signal processing and machine learning algorithms. For a long time, I've been a passive observer in the state of the world, without a clear philosophy. Recently, when researching a music project, I ended up digging deeper, trying to finally consolidate my world view, as painful as it is to look at the problems ahead of us straight in the face. I found out about Solarpunk, but wanted something actionable that could get us there. I read with interest about the experiments going on in the ReFi blockchain space (e.g. grassroots economics), and finally read books about Doughnut Economics and System Thinking. These two resonated deeply, so I thought DEAL was the place to start.
