DEAL's tool for business has now been launched!
The Doughnut Design for Business tool sets out how businesses can engage with Doughnut Economics. Built for use by workshop facilitators, it guides businesses through an action-oriented workshop that is practical but ambitious, and aimed at catalysing innovations in their deep design.
By focusing on the deep design of business, the workshop invites companies to engage in a transformative agenda of becoming regenerative and distributive in their strategies, operations, and impacts, so that they help to bring humanity into the Doughnut. The tool was created through 22 pilot workshops that included over 300 businesses.
You can view the new business tool via this link and in the slides below. We will be translating this tool into other languages, more on this soon.
We hosted a webinar to launch the tool on 7 November, which you can watch below (or via this link or below). Erinch Sahan and Kate Raworth from DEAL were joined by collaborators and thought-leaders who helped us develop the tool: Marjorie Kelly (Democracy Collaborative), Willem van Winden (CET), Priya Krishnamoorthy (200M Artisans), Andrea Armeni (Transform Finance), Ljupka Mitrinovska (Accelerate2030), Erinch Sahan (DEAL) and Kate Raworth (DEAL).
We also published a paper containing background on the concepts and ideas in the tool. Co-authored by DEAL and Centre for Economic Transformation, you can read our What Doughnut Economics means for business paper here.
DEAL's business policy has also been updated. Read the latest policy on how businesses can engage with Doughnut Economics here. This includes how businesses engaging in deep design can communicate about Doughnut Economics, how we'll be gathering case studies and stories, and ways organisations can use the tool and share back their experience and learning with the rest of the DEAL community.
We have more webinars planned (28 Nov 4pm and 1 Dec 9am UK time) to provide an overview of the tool and hold a discussion with change-makers hoping to use the tool with businesses. Please register for the webinars through this link.
We hope that all those who share our ambition to drive a deep transformation in business are excited to use this tool, share back their learnings and propose case studies. We will be creating additional materials and curating case studies to share over coming coming months.
Get inspired, connect with others and become part of the movement. No matter how big or small your contribution is, you’re welcome to join!
