We're live! DEAL Community Platform launches
A place for the growing worldwide community of changemakers who are turning the ideas of Doughnut Economics into action.

Doughnut Economics aims to rethink and remake our economies so that they meet the needs of all people within the means of the living planet. In other words, to get us into the ecologically safe and socially just space of the Doughnut.
Since the book Doughnut Economics was first published in 2017, many people – from teachers, artists and community organisers to city officials, business leaders and politicians – have said they want to put these ideas into practice. Indeed, they are already doing it.
Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL) was founded as a Community Interest Company in July 2019 with a mission to cultivate this energy and help turn Doughnut Economics from a radical idea into transformative action.
Today is the launch of DEAL’s online presence as well as the DEAL Community Platform - a place for this growing worldwide community to connect, share, inspire and get inspired by the many ways people are putting the ideas of Doughnut Economics into practice.
To get the ball rolling, DEAL is launching more than 40 open-access tools and stories that have been written by community members and by the DEAL Team. These are a mix practical guides that everyone can use to take action, and captivating initiatives from around the world that will engage and inspire others.
These tools and stories are all grouped by theme - Communities & Art, Cities & Places, Education & Research, Business & Enterprise, and Government & Policy - to help you find the content that’s most relevant and useful to you.
You can also find the latest News & Updates from the DEAL Team as well as Events by and for the DEAL Community. Looking to collaborate with people based near you? Find them in our Members directory and reach out via their profile.
DEAL has created this platform in the spirit of a healthy living system: it will evolve as the community experiments, learns and adapts. Today’s launch is just the start of a process driven by community co-creation.
"An idea in a book can spark inspiration” says Kate Raworth, author of Doughnut Economics, and DEAL’s co-founder, “but when change-makers pick it up, make it their own, and start putting it into practice, it becomes proof that another economy is possible. We can’t wait to see what this community gets up to."
