Pizza and Planetary Boundaries
In the early summer we gathered around 50 young people from various political youth parties and NGO's for an event called "Pizza and Planetary Boundaries".
They got an introduction to the history of human beings told with a 1,5 meter piece of wood, to The Great Acceleration, and to Doughnut Economics.
It was as a cross-political / bridge-building social event with a workshop about how to solve critical issues related to climate crisis, but also with time for sharing pizza and dreaming about the future.
They were discussing dilemmas such as:
The climate crisis is extremely well documented
-vs
The climate crisis is incredibly difficult to comprehend
Voters are waiting for politicians
-vs
Politicians wait for voters
No country has ever ended human poverty without economic growth
-vs
No country has ever ended environmental degradation with economic growth
It was great to experience young people with different backgrounds talking about a common and beautiful future.
