In October 2024, DEAL together with the City of Bad Nauheim, co-hosted the first ever in-person gathering of local governments working with Doughnut Economics. Over 50 participants, representing over 30 places joined two days of workshops, presentations, discussions, and collective brainstorming. Some of the cities represented were Ipoh (Malaysia), Tomelilla (Sweden), Bad Nauheim and Rhein-Kreis Neuss (Germany), Grenoble and Valence Romans (France), Frome (UK), Glasgow (Scotland), Peñalonen (Chile), Cocody (Cote d'Ivoire), Gentofte (Denmark), Riga (Latvia), Nanaimo and North Saanich (Canada) as well as many organisations working with municipalities from France, New Zealand, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Ukraine.
