I have worked with over 200 organisations to help them think differently about their place in the world and how they can become thriving enterprises contributing to a flourishing society. I am experienced in Doughnut Economics and passionate about strategy. A recent project I managed 'Eco-I NW' was awarded 2023 European SDG Initiative of the Year and UK Net-Zero Business Collaboration of the Year. All of my work is driven by action with enterprise, working to help the business community to understand: 🤔 What they do; 🧐 What are the associated impacts of what we do and the climate risks posed to incumbent business models; 😃 How businesses can move towards co-created long-term visions of sustainability via innovations at the strategic, business model, product, service and process levels, in so doing enhancing their resilience to the climate threat. My entire background has been applied work with organisations that range from the European Commission, to global industries such as the aviation sector, multi-national corporations, local authorities, SMEs, and local community groups. I have also covered themes as diverse as climate change, waste management, environmental noise management, communication and engagement between stakeholders and many, many more. In so doing I have developed experience across a range of areas that drive business responses to climate. These include: 👨🏻💼 Project management of multi-million pound projects; 🤝 Facilitation of innovation workshops for sustainability; 🌍 Delivery of real GHG savings and new-to-market products and services; 💬 Communication and engagement of climate issues. To this end, I am a certified trainer in Carbon Literacy and one of 3 accredited trainers in Environmental Management at Airports for Airports Council International - the global governing body for the Airport sector. If you haven't picked up from the above and my posts on here, I have a real passion for supporting the business community in its transition to sustainability, and in helping others to do the same. If you are a business/sector looking to innovate, a professional looking to support businesses, or a graduate or student looking to understand how you can help with any of the above, send me a message to say hello. Founder of The Shady Lanes Project and member of Regen Brisbane When I started my verge garden, my reason was simple. I was fed up with mowing it. Back then, I had no idea where it would lead me. Now I think verge gardens could be the key to saving us from the worst of climate change and biodiversity loss. Big claim for unimportant little bits of land, you might say. Come on the journey and see if you change your mind. The Shady Lanes Project is about a lot more than us all planting out our little patches. It’s about bringing diverse people together to learn how to collaborate by doing. It’s about changing the way we see nature. It’s about eco-systems thinking. Most of all, it’s about learning by doing the doable - and making what’s doable grow. [ShadyLanes_verge_eastward.jpg] [ ] Find out more: Website - Substack and newsletter
