+120 Business schools Students, applying Doughnut
Imagine a top ranked international Business School like SKEMA, teaching future managers how to apply Doughnut Economics

This marks the second year that we have delivered this one-week course with Laurence Nahmias Matteucci at SKEMA Business School. This year, Léo Malet joined us in enhancing and co-facilitating the course, leading to outstanding results:
- On average, a 30% increase in knowledge about Strong Sustainability
- 30–40% growth in willingness to act!
In this pivotal year, 2025—a time of heightened complexity and urgency—students' anxiety levels were notably high. When faced with overwhelming and stressful challenges, it is only human to push them aside if one feels powerless to act. The weight can be too difficult to bear.
However, empowerment changes everything. When provided with the right tools and real-world examples demonstrating that change is possible, hope is restored!
As educators, we strongly believe that offering more courses like this—integrating engaged companies and applicable solutions—helps students understand that "No, it’s not too late" and that "There ARE alternatives"!
As Rob Hopkins keeps reminding us, it is crucial that we, as a society, always see "what could be" beyond "what is"!
What is this course about?
The pedagogical objectives of the course are:
- Analysing an organisation's business model through the lens of its social and environmental impacts
- Identifying levers to reduce negative extra-financial impacts and transition towards a regenerative model
- Detailing the characteristics of a value proposition aligned with such a model
- Developing and communicating a unifying and engaging shared vision by leveraging marketing techniques
We use the tools Doughnut Design for Business, Business Remodel Canvas and the latest theories of change management. We applied these theories and tools to RAGNI, an international expert in public lighting and luminaires.
During this course, 120 final-year marketing students had the opportunity to reflect on the why behind their studies—and, more broadly, the why behind their careers.
A huge thank you to SKEMA Business School and RAGNI, and, most importantly, to the students themselves!
More educational innovations to come—let’s connect to expand and improve this together!
