Using the doughnut in rural Pakistan

BYAC is a story of youth-driven movement to help the most isolated communities

I am the co-founder of the Balochistan Youth Action Committee (BYAC), a group of passionate young individuals who are committed to improving the lives of people living in extreme poverty in our region. From the very beginning, we knew that we needed a clear and effective plan to achieve our goals.

That's when we discovered the Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL) framework, which gave us the clarity of thought we needed to chart a path towards success. With the help of the DEAL framework, we were able to redefine our goals and focus on the most important aspects of our campaign.

What we thought were our goals turned out to be merely means to achieve our real goals. Through the DEAL framework, we were able to address the root causes of poverty in our region, such as lack of education, poor healthcare facilities, and unemployment.

Our efforts paid off, and we were able to make a positive impact on the lives of countless people in our community. As our success spread, more and more people joined our cause, and we continued to use the DEAL framework to guide our actions and achieve our goals.

Today, BYAC is a shining example of the power of youth-driven initiatives and the effectiveness of the DEAL framework in creating meaningful change. For our work with limited resources in some of the most challenging terrains, we have been featured globally by the World Economic Forum, Bill Gates and Paulo Coelho among others.

I believe there is so much we can learn from the fellow DEAL members and the tools the framework provide.
