Introducing Regenerative and Distributive Design
Three short videos introducing the design dynamics at the heart of Doughnut Economics

Introducing Regenerative and Distributive Design
Overview
- from economies that are degenerative to ones that are regenerative by design
- from economies that are deeply divisive to ones that are distributive by design.
Regenerative and distributive design form two of the seven ways to think like a 21st century economist that you can read about in full here in the introduction to Doughnut Economics, and here in a series of 90-second animations.
Who is it for?
Introducing Regenerative and Distributive Design
This 2-minute video introduces the essential dynamics of both regenerative and distributive design.
Introducing Regenerative Design
This 3-minute video goes further into introducing regenerative design, presenting the two nutrient loops - biological and technical - and asks how can we mimic nature's genius and design in order to live with and within the cycles of the living world?
Introducing Distributive Design
This 3-minute video goes further into introducing distributive design by asking who owns the sources of wealth creation - such as land, housing, and business - and how can we design economies where value and opportunity is shared far more equitably with all those who co-create it, meaning everyone in society?

I am Spanish, I have a degree in Geography, a Masters in Strategic Territorial Development and have been living betwenn Spain in Portugal, in the frontier since October 2019. Professionally, I have 20 years of experience, always as a freelancer, working in different areas related to the territory: planning, participation, dynamization... For the last 15 years I have been working as a facilitator in territorial innovation and socio-ecological entrepreneurship, both as a facilitator of processes, as a trainer and mentor of social innovation projects or as a writer of several strategic territorial planning projects based on social innovation, both at regional and national level in Spain and internationally. As an independent researcher, I have developed several projects in which the Doughnut Economics model is always one of the strategic components. + info I am currently coordinating the BoraBeirã project in which the "LojaPlaneta" initiative is integrated. I am a purpose-driven and strategic movement maker, presenter and public speaker with a hands-on approach to production. Drawing from my 8+ years of international experience in community building, storytelling, and event & content production, I thrive on connecting people and driving positive change. With a background in communication science, international relations, yoga, mindfulness, permaculture design and regenerative leadership, my mission is to rekindle the connection between people and nature. In 2019 I co-created the Amsterdam Doughnut Coalition, a grassroots movement consisting of more than 1000 people in Amsterdam who are actively applying the principles of the doughnut economy. The impact of this initiative resonated globally, leading me to speak at numerous influential conferences, ranging from Berlin to Tokyo. My insights of the doughnut economy were featured in interviews with TIME Magazine and I had the privilege to deliver a TEDx talk about a regenerative future. Finally, I founded an international community, encompassing 30+ cities worldwide, to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration in driving the adoption of the doughnut economy. Let's connect and create a regenerative future together! Watch and read about my work in the following media: TEDx talk TIME Magazine SKY NEWS YES Magazine De Standaard La Liberation

Hello there 👋 I'm the Digital Platform Lead here at DEAL, which means I lead the design, development and management of this website, the DEAL Community Platform. My professional background is in game development as a programmer. I'm interested in using play to help people explore important and complex topics. I'm also a freelance writer covering the games industry, technology and climate change I've been involved in the fossil fuel divestment movement as a campaigner, combining the need for climate action with tangible steps towards a more regenerative economic system. I also helped found the game workers branch of the IWGB - the UK's first trade union dedicated to empowering and improving the rights of workers in the games industry.
