Step into the Donut - Online Workshop
An online workshop to introduce the Doughnut to any group

This is a presentation on how to run the “Step into the Donut” workshop online. The facilitator's guide is also available. The workshop and the guide are derived from the "Step into the Donut" original workshop.
The slides cover the various steps and help guide participants through the workshop.
Why use it?
- To enable as many people as possible to quickly and easily understand that a new economic model serving humanity and the planet is possible.
- To develop an inspiring and concrete vision to enable everyone to take action for a desirable future.
Who can use it?
- Facilitators
- Teachers
- Anyone committed to a better world
For whom?
The workshop is accessible to as many people as possible, including high-school students.
This online version helps making the Doughnut accessible to people who do not have on site access to the workshop.
How long does the workshop last?
1 hour.
The core of the workshop lasts 45 minutes, but it's important to leave time for welcoming and discussion at the end.
For how many people?
We strongly recommend 15 people maximum for this workshop, so that everyone can share and have a smooth experience. Beyond that: you'll need to think about making several sub-rooms, which will require different management.
What do you need to run the workshop?
- workshop material
- the facilitator notes linked below
- time beforehand to get to grips with the running of the workshop.
- adopt a facilitator's stance: let the participants have their say, and keep them at the heart of the workshop.
- think about time management and speaking turns.

Since 2015 I have been active in sustainability, first importing sustainable products to Chile and since 2017 with my foundation Plastic Oceans Chile. I work both on a local as a global level, solving plastic pollution upstream and downstream. I believe the doughnut model to be a great way of adressing systemic challenges and to provide a pathway that will take pressure of our planetary boundaries. I´m looking forward to discovering the action lab and learning from others who have been applying the doughnut model in practice.
