Hello, wonderful to be connected with you here on this platform. Thank you for following your curiosity to read more about me. I am Vera, an inquisitive human being, eager to contribute to the #paradigmshifts that I feel are bound to happen, whether its a shift in our understanding and use of #power, our money system and the way we build our economies, or our conscious relation- and #partnershipwithnature. I believe that the change that we want to see wants to happen from the inside out, that we are asked to increase our #self-awareness in how we contribute both to the change we want to see but also acknowledge the responsibility for the damage that we inevitably create by being part of the current system and paradigm. I believe we as humans have the capacity to both construct and destruct, co-create and destroy and all these sides of us want to be integrated and used consciously to create the change we want to see. I am a psychologist by profession, appreciative inquirer by nature and working in the field of organizational and personal development. For that matter I started my own company Dare to Imagine 4 years ago. Recently I took over the lead in organizing the Create Love in Business Congress series and would love to see any synergies we can create in the overlap of this congress series and this community here. I look forward to contribute to the Doghnut Economics Action Lab. Ideally I would love to be included in any research that is happening around questions like: What would be a narrative that is strong and compelling enough to allow us to move from extraction and domination of nature to something that allows for more balance and collaboration on eye-level with nature? In that light, how does nature in intact eco-systems organize itself and the value exchanges amongst its many different species? How does it balance competition with collaboration, self-interest with altruism, etc? What could we learn from these intact and flourishing eco-systems for our economy and money system and the paradigm shift that needs to happen there? And how can all of that be practically applied? But also if you have other ideas on how we can create synergies based on your impression of me so far, please feel free to reach out to me and connect.

I like to be in nature. I work in the #port and #logistics industry, where efficiency is the primary goal on which all efforts are focused. Sustainability is slowly arriving here. Occasionally, actors are embracing the principle of corporate sustainability. But the change in thinking is slow. In early 2022, I decide to study Environmental Management at the Fernuniversity Hagen beside my fulltime job as a marketeer at a consultancy firm specialised in global port consulting. I would like to help establish the Doughnut Economy approach in my sector and offer a substantial alternative to profit maximisation in corporate action. It is quite a journey, I know. We better get started.

I am a secondary school social studies teacher at a progressive independent school in Portland, Oregon, USA. My teaching revolves around environmentalism and policy. I have used "Donut Economics" in my classes for a few years, largely as a critique of dominant economics ideas and as a way of rethinking labor. I am interested in developing a secondary-level social studies curriculum around Donut Economics. The idea would be to replace nationalist, growth-centered focuses with outlooks privileging sustainability, global citizenship and social justice. Has anyone already done this work? I am hoping to meet with like-minded educators (anywhere in the world!) in Summer 2023. I recently began a Tiny Forest at my school. This is a Miyawaki-method "pocket forest" of native trees and shrubs. I have developed curriculum for lower and middle-school students around reforestation and Indigenous uses of plants.

Hi everyone, I'm a 33 year old Learning Disabilities nurse who moved to London from the East Midlands to study nursing. I've been working within the NHS since I qualified in 2018 and currently I work for a community learning disabilities healthcare team, although I spent the majority of my time since qualifying, working within Forensic Mental Health in inpatient and community settings. While I understand working as nurse could seem fairly removed, throughout my training and during practice I've seen how health inequalities as a result of politics and the socio-economic make up of our country, directly effect the most vulnerable people in out community. Since I've started reading more about Doughnut Economic theory, I've appreciated so much more about the interactions of current economic theory and the state of inequalities in the UK and further abroad; and I want to get more involved in doing something to help change things for the better.

My grandmother and mother were both radical Quakers, and I seem to be channelling them.; so what happened? In 1969 I dropped out of an economics degree after one term of mounting fury, and spent most of the next 20 years supporting community initiatives associated with the environment, the arts, and homelessness. The Open University introduced me to systems thinking, and I went on to do a couple of masters degrees (philosophy / world development) and a Ph.D. on The Equitable Construction of Social Institutions. After that excursion, it was back to community work, including some time in Lesotho and Mozambique, though I was also able to pick up a couple more masters' in business and tertiary education along the way. I've synthesised all that has been shared with me over those years into a way of looking at viable complex adaptive human systems, and I'd quite like in turn to share what I've learned before I become a candidate for reincarnation. (I'm hoping for tortoise next time around.)
