Doughnut Economics About DEAL News & Updates Meet the DEAL Team Careers FAQ Wider Movement Contact UsThe Doughnut Coalition Vienna aims to build momentum towards a regenerative and just society operating within planetary boundaries.
To do this we intend to connect, support and work with organisations, scientists, academics, policymakers, artists, activists and others who share these goals.
We are currently in the initial phases, but envisage operating across three broad spheres: Advocacy, Advisory and Action.
We advocate for the creation of a Doughnut4Wien (Doughnut for Vienna), assessing the city's social and ecological impact using the compass of the Doughnut, and identifying the measures we could take, collectively, to get into the "safe and just space for humanity."
To help create, transform and scale businesses and organisations that are regenerative by design, we also aim to support consultants and advisors in working with the Doughnut's tools for businesses and enterprises, and to promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the community.
Finally we want to change how economics is taught, practiced and understood: in schools, universities, in the media and in our institutions. We will help communicate the work of the many ecological and pluralist economists, social scientists and systems thinkers already active in Austria and beyond, in order to equip educators, journalists and policymakers with the concepts and tools needed to navigate the transition to an economy that works for people and planet.
If you want to join us or find out more about the Doughnut Coalition, please contact Katy Shields (katy(at)numeralysis.com) or Christian Zauner (czauner(at)synovation.org).
You can also meet us and other members of the Coalition in person for "Coffee and Doughnuts" on the third Thursday of each month in the Climate Lab (climatelab.at) in Vienna's 9th District.
More to come... please follow us to stay up to date!

Curiosity. The eagerness to learn. The realisation that we MUST change and that this change needs to be from the ground up.
