Worked for Fuji Bank (currently Mizuho Bank) after graduating from Sophia University with a degree in Economics. He went to Shanghai to study Chinese abroad, then left Shanghai for Tibet, India, Nepal, and Thai with 6 companions of different nationalities for 4 months as a backpacker. In Nepal, he broke the Annapurna Circuit, which was the starting point for his engaging in international business. In 2003, he became a country manager of Datastream Systems, a Nasdaq-listed company acquired by Infor Global, implementing EAM (= Enterprise Asset Management System) in 3 refineries of Showa Shell and other multiple sites in the process industry. In 2019, he joined a StartupBootCamp Osaka program held by Rainmaking Innovation as an Innovation Partner. There, he facilitated 20 POCs between 13 startups from 11 countries and 7 Japanese large corporations. In March 2021, he became CEO of Global DX Inc., and is supporting the establishment of a global ecosystem and venture building through it.

Lizzy has been working with schools on Global Citizenship Education and campaigning for 24 years. She represented Ireland on the European Development Education Forum for four years, and has been a member of the steering group of the Global Campaign for Education, Stop Climate Chaos and Act Now 2015 for many years. She now works for Worldwise Global Schools working with teachers-encouraging teachers to bring Doughnut Economics in to their classrooms and beyond.  She founded Balbriggan Community Murals as part of Balbriggan Tidy Towns and is interested in activism, art, music and theatre too!

In my current role at Quantum5, I am responsible for supporting businesses to balance profits with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) responsibilities. I lead our global engagement and relationships with the United Nations Global Compact Network Pakistan and provide businesses, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and agencies with customised analysis, guidance, and support to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to tackle #climate change, particularly focusing on reducing inequalities, achieving net-zero, and creating sustainable economic growth.    I have also taken the lead in developing a hybrid #SDG and #ESG Assessment tool for the United Nations Global Compact Network Pakistan, using a tech platform for businesses to better understand the UN’s SDGs and to help companies springboard their sustainability ambitions by assessing their sustainability baseline and next steps to drive the UN’s 2030 agenda forward.

Ken Novak, Ph.D. is a public speaker, father of eight children, retired military officer, a  hospice bereavement support chaplain and adjunct university professor. I do believe the future belongs to the storyteller, and donut economics is rewriting the narrative of our shared humanity.  Currently, I am trying a new project with my business ethics students in seeing if they can help "advise" Mr. Tom Vazzo, CEO of Homeboys Inc. and author of The Homeboy Way, in considering how his desire for "Economic Equality Capitalism" (p.146) can be framed within the considerations of donut economics, especially with respect to the social foundation.  Mr. Vazzo's "new way forward" includes a radical idea of putting "our best business minds to use in creating companies with huge employment returns as opposed to creating companies with huge financial returns as the priority" (p.149).  That's bending the curve of growth toward people, and specific for Vazzo's consideration it means "invest[ing] in people who are just beginning to see life bloom before them."  #socialjustice,  ,

Kenneth is a Green Finance Passionate Practitioner, Head of Policy Advisory and Climate Finance at CRDB Bank Plc www.crdbbank.co.tz, joined a Global Community working to gain a deeper understanding of Climate Change Science/ Global Impact and Climate Change Financial Risks and Opportunities, taking a chance to get up to speed supporting the global response to the threat of climate change and a set of financial risks of increasing concern geared to stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that will prevent dangerous human interference with the climate system, in a time frame which allows ecosystems to adapt naturally and enables sustainable development.

I am a retired teacher educator working part-time as a writer, educator and activist. I have been involved in global justice education and ecological understanding since 1979. I ran a Development Education Centre from 1985-1991 and produced 10 teaching packs on "Humanity in the Environment" to bring issues of global and environmental concern to children in both primary and secondary schools. I was a trustee for the World Studies Trust for many years and worked extensively on The Global Teacher project across the UK and with my student teachers in Swansea. I n retirement I was an education consultant until Covid and worked with research into Social Care with a focus on Care in everyday life. I  continue to educate in schools and community working in classrooms and with teachers and producing articles for teachers and materials for children. I have been an active member of Extinction Rebellion since 2018. I am now a teacher of QiGong and a keen meditator.

I work in Global Education and anti-racism programs, with schools, colleges, service-providers, and youth and community groups around Ireland.  I'm an outreach and education worker with Financial Justice Ireland.  This work involves exploring and questioning dominant narratives about growth and 'development', as well as looking at root causes of global poverty, including unfair trade, debt and tax systems drives inequalities and environmental harm.  I have a particular interest in building solidarity relationships and to learn how we can work collectively to challenge global injustices at the heart of the current economic system. In terms of approach, I particularly value using creative and participatory methodologies, and experiential learning.  www.financialjustice.ie

Understanding money and the role it plays in our lives has been an interesting area of self-discovery for me since my childhood. When I was 6yrs old, my mom used to give me 1 Rupee everyday for buying sugar candies on my way back home from my school. I realised that while I had that money to buy 5 candies every day costing 20 paise each, not all my friends were able to afford it every day.  Understanding why mom was able to give me that 1 Rupee, why she will only give it for me and not for my friends every day, why their moms were not give the same money everyday to them, learning to exhibit the appropriate behaviour and trying to be sensitive to the limitations of my friends were some of the early life lessons that I had in my life. As I grew, my interest in life spanned over   and I see running a business is a highly meaningful and a responsible job in a society.

Hi everyone, I’m Jennifer, from Peru. I live in Lima now, but my roots are in the region of Pasco, in a small town called Pozuzo. My background is in Economic Engineering and Business. I first heard about the Donut model back in university, one of my professors mentioned it, and even though it was just a small reading, it really stayed with me. I felt connected because since I was little, I’ve always believed that humanity can grow and progress while respecting our planet. For me, that has always felt like the smarter and more conscious way to live. What excites me about the Donut is that it feels like a beginning, a step toward a bigger future. I imagine a time when the main incentive for us as humans is not profit, but self-realization, both individually and together as a society. In that sense, I see the Donut as an initiation, opening the door to that larger vision of human evolution. It’s truly a pleasure to be part of this community, a real movement. I also believe in developing green smart cities, and that AI can contribute to this new era of humanity while respecting our environment. I would like to learn and to share with all of you guys.

I launched the ecoParc-industriel dynamic at the FTI 10 years ago. I'm in charge of facilitating the establishment of companies on industrial land on a territorial scale that's bigger than the real estate plot: the urban piece or the plot of land (a neighbourhood block), with the idea of facilitating mutualisation and reducing environmental impacts. Mon intention est de percevoir comment implanter la pratique du donut dans notre organisation. Je suis chef de projet à la FTI, la Fondation pour les Terrains Industriels de Genève. J'ai créé il y a 10 ans la dynamique écoParc-industriel à la FTI. My  journey has been shaped by my experiences working in a refugee camp, where I witnessed firsthand the struggles faced by women and children. I believe that sustainable and inclusive policies are essential to building a more just and equitable world.
