In November 2024, during the Global Donut Days, Brazil experienced days of connection and collective action. Fourteen cities were mobilized — Belo Horizonte, Contagem, Florianópolis, Fortaleza, Ibirité, Lençóis Paulista, Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro, Serra Grande, São José dos Campos, São Paulo, Salvador, Vitória, and Vinhedo — bringing together 1,249 people, including volunteer organizers and participants.
Each place found its own way to celebrate, strengthening community bonds and bringing to life practices that reflect care and imagination for possible futures. There were discussion circles, workshops, fairs, exhibitions, games, planting activities, and intergenerational gatherings. In every city, collectives, organizations, and individuals acted with the same purpose: to nurture well-being in their territories.
Among the themes explored were: Innovations for an ecosocial transition, Doughnut Economics for children, City Portrait: Lençóis Paulista, Ancestral food and bioconstruction practices, Doughnut Economics for business, Strengthening local entrepreneurship, The waste cycle and new perspectives on waste, and Regenerative solutions Rio de Janeiro city center.
To capture it all, we prepared a report with stories, numbers, and images that tell the story of those days. Check it out at the bottom of the page in Attachments.
