I'm Dutch. I lived in 7 countries and after walking the Camino de Santiago I ended up in Asturias, Spain. I've seen extreme poverty and pollution first hand and am aware of the privilege live I have which makes me want to contribute to make the world better for all begins.  I work in online  , specifically and content marketing in the online gambling industry.  I currently focus on raising social and environmental awareness in the online gambling industry, urging players to choose brands that want to do good for the world, and accelerating the adoption of progressive ESG strategies in the industry.

I make landscapes for private and public clients, from their design to overseeing their implementation.  I reduce waste and use local materials wherever possible and am passionate about habitat creation and increasing biodiversity.  I am interested in finding ways to protect soil on building sites and create cultural change so that every decision is focused on nature restoration and biodiversity.  I work with community projects wherever possible and would like to bring more of this work into my studio practice.

I'm a college professor teaching in the disciplines of ethics and philosophy.  Many of my students are in business programs driven by ideologies of competition and dominance. Doughnut Economics can be developed as a philosophical concept based on ethics. This will offer my students alternative ways to think about doing business. I have 3 wonderful daughters and 8 grandkids, and together we have a little more than enough to live without worry. We often share ideas about how we are sharing our resources with others.

I’m inspired to apply my art to find hope and meaning amid the climate crisis. Solar Punk Repaints In these imaginative realist landscapes, I modify my plein air paintings of my local Santa Cruz area, reimagining the location as an equitable and sustainable utopia. On social media I share painting process videos that explore the history and future of that location. Featuring Local Stewardship I also create plein air paintings that highlight local organizations that are responding positively to the crisis. This year I’m focusing on land stewardship. Sourcing How can I responsibly make and sell objects from the fruits of the earth during this time of over-extraction? I explore this through my laser woodworking of local redwood and internationally sourced bamboo plywood. Fairies I believe that ecologically balanced culture requires more than a utilitarian appreciation for nature.  We need our reverence for nature to include sense of mystery which inspires humility. In many of my plein air landscapes I include glowing nature spirits, which I call fairies, as an embodiment of this sense of mystery.

Based in Asia for the past 15 years (Previously Hong Kong and currently in Chiang Mai!), I work through a framework of dynamic creative practice, collaboration, cultural knowledge-sharing, and thought-partnership to assist those who want to make a difference and impact in the world with their business, creations and attitudes. I have worked in event, project, and cultural management, as well as a range of creative practices in the arts for over 20 years. I have a strong interest in contemporary and innovative art practices, and how this can elevate creatives, communities, businesses and ideas into a new realm of possibility.    I am the Artistic Director of the global arts initiative Micro Galleries a founded women-centred guerilla consulting company, Urban Nasty; was co-founder and creative collaborator of arts collective Rue de la Rocket, a Director of Sydney alternative arts space The Red Rattler, an Advisor for International organisation United Sketches, and named as one of Australia's 100 Women of Influence for 2015, and one of the top 10 in Culture.
