I am an student of 3th semester of PhD. on economics at the Economic Research Institute of National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). My research is about biophisical limits of mexican economy, but I have a strong interest to develop a doughnut economic model for Mexican economy. I would really love to receive guidance in this regard. I had worked on climate change since 2007, mostly on GHG mitigation actions and GHG inventories using GHG protocol and IPCC guidelines.     I worked for 8 yearsat the National Institute of Ecology and Climate Change (INECC),   I  and I was part of the team that developed the Fourth and Fifth National Communications, and First BUR for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). But it was right after this job that I realized I had to know economics, and I did a master's degree in economics at the same institute. I believe that economics has led humanity in actions and thought, and if you want to make a proposal, it should go in that direction. I am also taking the second module of Common earth and I can contribute to this network everything I know about ecological footprints, carbon footprints, emissions inventories and systems thinking, as well as what will result from my research.

I'm a Puerto Rican researcher at Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) in Estonia, pursuing a PhD in Digitalization and Entrepreneurial Ecosystems. My research explores how digitalization impacts the development of entrepreneurial ecosystems. Specifically, I'm interested in how digital tools can be leveraged across borders to enhance accessibility of entrepreneurial resources and assist in the transition towards more    economies.  Before entering  I gained experience in local and international public accounting firms, specializing in financial advisory and business risk services. I worked with clients across diverse industries in Puerto Rico, the U.S., Latin America, and the Caribbean, leading projects in financial modeling, internal audit, M&A due diligence, and business process reviews. Following the devastation of hurricanes Irma and Maria in my homeland of Puerto Rico, I transitioned to the non-profit sector. Here, I conducted  on disaster recovery and led the design and evaluation of business support programs for nascent entrepreneurs in underserved communities.  My passion for combining business expertise with  led me to found Labfields where I leverage my past experiences to design accessible tools and services that empower small businesses to adapt to the challenges posed by climate change.

 I am Vaani Garg, an enthusiastic 2nd -year college student pursuing Economics Honours . I am driven by the will to create a student-led start-up whose benefits would accrue to society. I have spent 10 years of my childhood living in the countries of Mozambique and Tanzania. I am an Assistant Professor of Management at the University of Illinois Chicago. My research interests lie at the intersection of social movements, markets, and sustainability. I examine how activists pressure firms and industries to change their socially and environmentally detrimental practices, as well as how they support new sustainable industries. Additionally, I study how targeted firms and markets push back against this pressure, especially through the creation of corporate front groups. I teach an undergraduate course that covers topics on business and society, and I have classes that explore circular economies, closed-loop systems, and biomimicry. I have my students watch a video on doughnut economics as part of this content. My interest in the DEAL Community is in continuing to learn, accessing new content to share with my students, and hopefully in the future engaging in research, education, and advocacy that can advance this approach to economic systems.

After a master's in Human Resources I worked as a Headhunter for the development/ non-profit sector and then worked as an HR Generalist in a for-profit. I witnessed how corporations' focus on profit maximisation, sales, revenue and growth are governed by capitalism and have got nothing to do with social issues, the environment and socio-economic inequalities. It became apparent that ever-increasing production and consumption are considered normal whilst it isn't.  I was inspired to do another masters at UCL in Science Technology and Society which gave me perspective on the role of science and policymaking in bringing material changes in the world. I tried transitioning into social research and projects but had a tough time. I enjoyed reading the work of Mariana Mazzucato, Kate Raworth, Jason Hickel as it resonates with my concerns and answers some of today's pressing problems. While I continue to be a Human Resources professional my mind is occupied with the problems of the 21st Century. I feel everyone on the planet should have the opportunity to contribute to such issues. I'd love to be a part of the DEAL Community and connect with like minds. Born and bred in Addis Ababa Ethiopia, Samuel is an agribusiness professional, a public sector consultant and an agri-food systems researcher.  As an agribusiness professional, was engaged in multiple research and business projects at levels of the agri-food sector in Ethiopia.  The most impactful among these include AgricaJice Tibila, a passionfruit juice export company. He was responsible for leading projects developing the nucleus as well as the outgrower farms supplying the fruit. As a consultant, he contributed to multiple impactful social and public sector projects across Africa. Working in numerous production and distribution companies in Christchurch, he acquainted himself with New Zealand's food and beverage sector. He is currently completing his PhD in agribusiness, focused on improving the performances of Agricultural value chains using the system dynamics methodology.
