Overview
In 2017, Kate Raworth published the book Doughnut Economics: Seven Ways to Think Like a 21st-Century Economist, and since its publication it has gone on to inspire a global community of changemakers wanting to turn the ideas of Doughnut Economics into action.
Here you can read Chapter 1, entitled 'Change the Goal: From GDP to the Doughnut', where Kate introduces the paradigm of mainstream economics, rooted in growth, and offers an alternative compass for the 21st century - the Doughnut of social and planetary boundaries.
