As part of the «Urban Innovation Lab. Bureau of Recovery Plans» project, the Restart team served as consultants for the strategic development of the Lviv city community. The primary tactical goal was to conduct an additional analysis of the Northern District of Lviv.
This analysis, based on the Doughnut methodology and aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the area’s current and potential future state.
The strategic goal of this research was to utilize the findings from the analysis to enhance and refine recommendations for the future development of the Northern District.
The Doughnut methodology was chosen for its qualitative capability to analyze cities and communities, focusing on the main components of citizen well-being while taking into account relevant global factors in order to provide a broader understanding of planetary processes that impact urban life.
The study included the results of workshops conducted to analyze the Northern District of Lviv in greater depth. These workshops provided valuable insights and facilitated a
comprehensive understanding of the area’s specific challenges and opportunities.
A significant component of this study was the integration of the Voluntary Local Review of the status of achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the city of Lviv. This document offers a detailed analysis of development trends across all 17 goals, encompassing various aspects of the local community’s life within the Lviv territorial community.
By incorporating these diverse sources of information, the study aims to provide a robust foundation for strategic recommendations that support the sustainable and resilient development of the Northern District of Lviv.
